“Gossip Girl” star hits S.J. with Cinequest movie
Leighton Meester, who stars in “Gossip Girl” on the CW, will be in downtown San Jose on Thursday for a screening of “Flourish,” a 2006 independent movie she co-starred in with Jennifer Morrison of “House” fame. The movie, about a brain-damaged tutor who recounts the disappearance of a teenaged girl she was babysitting, made its debut at last year’s Cinequest Film Festival.
An hour-long conversation will be held with Meester and “Flourish” director Kevin Palys at 7:30 p.m. before the screening at Camera 3. You read that right, Camera 3 — the Camera Cinemas’ former art-movie base which it left a couple of years ago to move into larger digs down the street.
Tickets to the movie and conversation are $10. The movie (without the conversation) will continue to play at Camera 3 starting Friday until Jan. 23 at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Need more information? Head to www.cinequest.org, where you can also get details on this year’s festival, which runs Feb. 27-March 9.
